Composting worms are worms that will eat organic matter. They are great pets and help manage kitchen waste like scraps from vegetables and fruits. Their by-products are perfect for plants.
We feed our worms on one side of the bin and once the food is gone, we feed on the other side. Always cover the food waste and if possible chop or shred the food waste prior to feeding.
Worms leave bins if it is too dry, too wet or not enough food.
With our hot weather we water daily and in the winter just once a week. We may water more often depending if the worm bed is too dry. Worms like the soil damp or semi moist.
